Frank Bellanger III - Certified SUD Trainer and Specialist
Prior to his current role in substance abuse disorder (SUD) recovery, Frank Bellanger III worked in construction. After recovering from SUD, Frank Bellanger III started helping others at area prisons in Richmond, Virginia.
Mr. Bellanger was inspired by his own recovery experience to launch Starfish Recovery and Wellness in 2020. Starfish Recovery and Wellness is a treatment center that relies on holistic wellness practices to help clients recover from addiction.
Initially, he started the treatment center with only seven beds. Today, the facility is a 74-bed treatment center that offers counseling from a holistic, wellness perspective. Mr. Bellanger works to ensure the program offers clients services that will help ensure they remain clean. Since launching, he has implemented mindfulness workshops, CrossFit, yoga, breathwork, story work, and sound healing as therapies in helping clients get past addiction.
Mr. Bellanger’s NADAAC-approved certifications in addiction counseling include recovery coach trainer, peer recovery specialist, and forensic peer support. In addition to his certifications, he has presented at the National Alliance of Recovery Residences Best Practices Summit in Richmond, Virginia. StarFish Recovery and Wellness center has sponsored the event twice in the last three years.
When not overseeing the recovery center, Mr. Bellanger enjoys CrossFit and watching Philadelphia Eagles games. At one time, he was his son’s soccer team coach. He is now an advisor for his son’s chess club. He currently resides in Richmond, Virginia.
